I did all of the talking in my post describing genius hour and my second post summarizing and reflecting how the projects turned out. In this final genius hour post, I'm going to let the students voice their opinions on how genius hour went for them!
Greg (above) decided to film and upload Youtube videos on various soccer skills. He was excited about maintaining his own webpages, along with his accidental popularity boost!
Sergio (above) taught all of us how to clash even better than we already do. He recorded and edited a long video about Clash of Clan strategies. He even earned some brownie points at the end of his post. He also discusses a classmate's project that he enjoyed.
Ryan (below) designed a few Vianney t-shirts in hopes that he could help raise money for both our school and also for his mother who has been battling cancer. While a lot of the students talk about how much they enjoyed their projects, Ryan reflects about a few speed bumps he hit while trying to design some logos for sporting events. Shout out to our principal and various members of our staff for talking with our students about making their projects a reality!

Remember our brainiacs from my second post? Below is Ethan's post about his thoughts on their brain models and presentation. He enjoyed the independence without many guidelines, practicing time management, and his partner.
Some students were honest that they were not happy with their partner's performance. One student (below) suggested I make each partner log what he individually accomplishes. He also mentioned making sure to pick a partner who is reliable.
One student even mentioned how the blogging was helpful.
Finally, I think this student's blog (below) sums up most of my thoughts about student choice and autonomy in this project.
Based on how the projects turned out and how the students enjoyed their opportunity to work on a project they are passionate about, I am continuing genius hour this semester. I would highly suggest trying this in all classrooms!
